Ventless Condenser Dryer Operation and Florida Humidity Impact

RV washer-dryer combos like the Splendide WD2100XC use a condenser drying system rather than a vented exhaust dryer. In a condenser dryer, warm humid air from the drum is circulated across a cold condenser coil (cooled by ambient temperature air from outside the unit), the moisture condenses on the coil as water, and that water is pumped to drain. No external vent is required. The efficiency of condenser drying depends critically on the temperature differential between the drum air and the condenser coil - the greater the temperature gap, the faster moisture condenses. Florida's high ambient humidity (average 70-75% relative humidity year-round in coastal areas) reduces this differential because the incoming cooling air for the condenser carries more moisture itself, making the coil less cold relative to the drum air. The practical result is that condenser dryer cycle times run 15-20% longer in coastal Florida than the manufacturer's specified time in dry northern climates. Cycle times extending beyond 3 hours for a standard load indicate maintenance issues (clogged filter or coil) or a component failure (failed condenser pump, weak heater element). RV Washer-Dryer Drum Bearing Failure in Florida Humidity

The drum bearing in an RV washer-dryer combo supports the drum on both the drive side and the idler side. The idler bearing (a plain ball bearing, not a sealed unit in most Splendide models) is positioned at the rear of the drum and lubricated from the factory with a grease pack that lasts approximately 7-9 years under normal residential use.
